Privacy Policy

Last updated: placeholder. This is a template for review by counsel before launch.

What we collect

We collect the information you provide to place an order or create an account — name, email, shipping address, phone (optional) — and order history. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processors and are never stored on our servers.

We also record limited first-party analytics to run and improve the store — for example the page you landed on, the website or ad that referred you, and any marketing campaign tags (UTM parameters and ad click identifiers such as gclid or fbclid) contained in the link you arrived from. This is kept in your browser’s first-party storage and may be attached to your order; it is not linked to any third-party advertising profile.

How we use it

  • To process, fulfill, and ship your orders.
  • To send transactional messages (receipts, shipping updates).
  • To send marketing emails only with your consent; you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To improve the site and prevent fraud.
  • To understand which marketing channels and ads bring researchers to the store (first-party attribution).

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the store — for example payment processors (Stripe), shipping/label and email providers. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies, local storage & analytics

We use only first-party browser storage — no third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and no advertising pixels:

  • Essential: local storage keeps your cart, session, and preferences working.
  • First-party attribution: when you arrive from a link or ad, we store the referring site and any campaign tags (UTM parameters, ad click IDs such as gclid/fbclid) in your browser and attach them to any order you place, so we can see which channels are effective.

Because this is strictly first-party data that we do not sell, share with advertising networks, or use to track you across other sites, no cookie-consent banner is required. We also honor your browser’s “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals. You can clear this data anytime by clearing your browser’s site data. If we ever add third-party analytics or advertising pixels, we will update this policy and add the appropriate consent controls.

Your choices

You can request access to or deletion of your data, and opt out of marketing at any time, by emailing support@aretecompounds.com.
